Kitten Update

I'm calling it a kitten update, but really its more about the older two cats... Touma and Ryoko are absolutely amazing. We kept Olo isolated from them for two full days after we got him and then we had a day of real brief moments of interaction. Another day later and Touma had already accepted him and was seen playing with the kitten on numerous occasions. Furthermore, during the following days of interaction between Olo and Ryoko, Touma was the referee. He would actually come between the two when things got a little heated. Of course even with Ryoko, 'heated' only meant some hissing, growling, and smacking. After about a week, Ryoko has accepted the kitten too, although she's not as friendly with him as Touma is. Still that doesn't change the fact it only took about five days for us to be able to leave Olo alone with other two when we went out.

This morning all three cats were seen playing together on the bed.

We have Kitten!

Despite everything thats been happening, we did get the kitten on Saturday as expected. He's extremely cute, a perfect example of the breed, and actually quite sweet. He knows when he wants his cuddles and will come get them no matter what you may be doing. He also knows when he wants to eat. He eats SO much! But thats a kitten I guess.

He is evil though, too, so there's no denying that he is Olo.

The other cats haven't really had a chance to get used to him. Whenever we hold him up in sacrifice to them, they hiss and growl. I'm hoping that by about a week or so they'll have a more friendly interaction. We've been keeping them seperated for now, if only because tiny Olo will jump at these significantly larger cats as if he was the Man.

More later, like maybe when we have a computer again.

Dot Dot Dot *blink*

Less then a week after the wedding and we get our house broken into. They took the computer, the portable that wasn't working, the DVD player that likes to eat DVDs, and an American Gamecube which matched my Gameboy Advanced that was stolen out of my sister's luggage earlier last week. They also took all of the remotes even for things they didn't steal and they took my really cute rechargable light I had just bought and that I really adored. It was sort of this organic rounded oval shape and it changed colours from blue to green. It was also the only one left at the store and had in fact been the display model.

They also took my brand new backpack which had my Hello Kitty plushie backpack in it along with a favourite leather organizer thing that had my Virginia State Driver's License in it and my checkbook. The backpack also had a hard-to-find little fox plushie keychain on it. :( Oh, and my credit card was in there too. So all of our credit cards have been cancelled - which means we can't do shit until we get replacements. We were going to go to pick up Olo this weekend, but now we can't get the tickets. At least the breeder had recently offered to bring Olo to us. So I think we'll have to be taking her up on that.

Of course what really sucks is the computer is Philip's life since he telecommutes. The thieves also took all of the networking stuff, so we're really screwed. I'm in an internet cafe right now. Philip's at home. We're truly paranoid about going out because we suspect they didn't take everything they wanted to. At least we're all OK, although we had a really nasty scare with Ryoko. She got out somehow (or they tried to steal her too) but we finally found her hiding in the storage shed. For awhile there we thought she was gone. It was such a relief to find her. (But if they did try to steal her, they now have fuck-off huge bloody gashes all on their arms because she's a bitch to pick up. Philip got some of his own trying to grab her to take her back inside.)

Oh, and they left an ugly, oily footprint on our new couch.

(And yes, we have contacted the police and they've taken fingerprints and photographs. We've also started making a list of everything to report to the insurance company.)
